The Balearic islands are well known for their incredibly beautiful beaches and coves, the gastronomy, the active nightlife and parties, and for being a magical place to rest and relax. Each one of them has its unique attributes, so if you want to discover a bit more about all of them, keep reading this post because we will share with you all the information you need to know about these islands.
The Balearic Islands are located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, just in front of Spain. They are separated into 2 groups of islands, Gimnesias and Pitiusas, which are different archipelagos and islets. However, we can talk about the 4 main and most popular islands, which are Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. All of them are under the Spanish government and regulations as a Spanish uniprovincial autonomous community. The capital of them all is Palma de Mallorca.
Mallorca
The biggest island we can find in the area is Mallorca, which is the capital and it is part of the Gimnesias islands. It is by far the island with the most diversity, from mountain range to incredible beaches. But not only is it diverse, naturally speaking, but it also has different tourist attractions that can make your trip something unforgettable. On the island you can find many night parties, incredible gastronomy that will enchant any foodie, you can practice golf, hiking, trekking, diving, and so much more. Of course, the main attraction is the amazing beaches and coves that are here.
Palma, the capital of Mallorca and all the Balearic Islands has been chosen as the best city to live in. This is because the island has been in constant renovations and urban planifications to make it better and more comfortable each time. So, not only you can have a good time on its beaches, but also you can enjoy the different restaurants and their experience, exploring museums, galleries, go to clubs, take different city tours, sailing and so much more.

These are the beaches and coves that you cannot miss in your visit are Cala Agulla, Formentor, Portals Vells, Playa de Canyamel, Cala Santanyi, Cala Tuent, Camp de Mar, and Alcudia Bay.
Menorca
Menorca is the second island in size and it is also part of the Gimnesias islands. It is not as popular as its sister Mallorca or Ibiza, therefore it is not so well known for its parties or active lifestyle. However, Menorca is the destination in the Balearics that you can take if you really want to enjoy nature, disconnect for a little bit and relax. This is the furthest island from Spain, which has helped to keep its coast and shore intact. It seems that the distance has helped to keep the history untouched, so you can truly see many references to the bronze Age and symbols of many invasions in gregorian architecture.
The island has two main cities that we truly recommend visiting. Mahon, which has a rich history and incredible architecture, and Ciudatella, which became popular by hosting important restaurants with sea views and hotels. Both are beautiful and we can guarantee that you will have a nice time in any of them.

It has incredible beaches with white sand and turquoise water and a rich culture that you can experience through its traditional Mediterranean food, local people, and history. The island is a paradise with traditional architecture, with its well-known white buildings, but also surrounded by olive and fig forest.
Ibiza, along with Sant Antoni and Saint Eulalia are the most popular cities where you will be able to find the most luxurious hotels and restaurants with incredible sea views.
